County councillor elections will be held on Thursday 1 May 2025 for the 8 divisions in the East Cambridgeshire area. Each division will elect one councillor.
An election will also be held on Thursday 1 May 2025 to elect a Mayor for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.
Everybody in a household will receive a booklet, this is in accordance with the current legislation that all eligible electors receive their own hardcopy of the mayoral booklet. It is the responsibility of the Combined Authority Returning Officer to provide booklets on behalf of the Combined Authority.
The estimated cost of delivering the booklets to every eligible elector in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough electoral area, totalling approximately 645,000 electors, is £518,602.
Every elector should have received a poll card relating to the upcoming elections. The poll cards detailed how to apply for, when to apply by, for either a postal or proxy vote. The poll cards were sent out several weeks before the elections, in plenty of time for electors to make an application. The mayoral booklets were sent out later and reiterated the details shown in the poll cards. Due to the volume of booklets to be produced and distributed, approximately 645,000, some electors unfortunately received their copy after the relevant legal deadlines.
The legal deadline for applying to register is 11 April 2025, for postal votes is 14 April 2025 by 5pm and for proxy vote applications is 23 April 2025 by 5pm.

For postal vote applications you will need to upload a signature.
Notices of the elections were published on Tuesday 25 March 2025. Nomination packs for the county council elections can be downloaded from the Electoral Commission website.
Nomination packs for the mayor election can also be downloaded from the Electoral Commission website.
Anyone wishing to stand for either elections must submit their completed pack by 4pm on 2 April 2025.
