A fun and free Youth Fusion event will be taking place at The Hive, Ely on Thursday, 24 July.
The drop-in event, which last year attracted hundreds of young people, is returning to the district due to popular demand.
Youth Fusion events provide a unique opportunity for young people aged 5 to 18 to try their hand at sporting activities with clubs operating locally and find out more about organisations offering support and advice.
There will be opportunities to scramble up a climbing wall, take part in a street art workshop, meet the fire service and receive first aid training.
You can also try your hand at Korfball or basketball, or have a workout at a mobile gym.
On a more serious note, the Community Safety Partnership will be there offering advice on things like knife crime, anti-social behaviour and safeguarding. There will also be age-appropriate relationship and sexual health advice from Dhiverse and Everyone Health, and vaping advice from Healthy You.
Plus, you can find out more about what you can explore what you can do to help reduce waste and increase recycling; find out more about climate change or get involved in the local nature recovery strategy.
A bike mechanic will be available to offer advice on bike maintenance and carry out basic repairs on the day free of charge, and the police will be offering bike security marking.
Stephanie Jones, Communities and Partnerships Support Officer at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “Whether you want to just have an enjoyable free day out with friends, or find out more about the support and services that are available – or both, it’s guaranteed there will be something for everyone on the day.”
The Youth Fusion event will be held between 11am and 3pm. The site is fully accessible, and attendees are advised to take their own water bottles for refills on the day.
The event is being supported by a diverse range of organisations including East Cambridgeshire District Council, Cambridgeshire Constabulary, East Cambridgeshire Community Safety Partnership, and EMC bicycle repairs.
