Drop in to find out more about bins

East Cambridgeshire District Council advisors will be out in the district talking to residents about new upgrades to the bin service this November.

We’re answering questions residents may have about the new wheeled bins and food waste service, while visiting locations across East Cambs. We’ll also have examples of the new bins to show people.

The new food waste collection, free additional recycling bins and soft plastics recycling, all being introduced in summer of 2026, give residents the opportunity to be even better at recycling.

If you have any questions about the new service, speak to an advisor at any of the following locations:

  • Littleport Co-op, Wisbech Road, Monday 10 November between 3pm and 5pm
  • Soham library, Thursday 20 November between 10am and midday
  • Ely Tesco, Friday 21 and Saturday 22 November between 10am and 2pm each day
  • Ellesmere Centre, Stetchworth, Friday 28 November between 9am and midday

Residents who believe they need a larger black wheeled bin can request one before the end of November via our website: New bin service or by calling 01353 665555.
