A-D. We have 6 officers that have a role in enforcing all elements of nuisance (or ASB), public health, Environmental Crime, dog related issues etc. Their roles cannot only cover one aspect as it is a small team thereby all Officers must cover a wide range of enforcement roles. Several officers also have other roles in pollution control such as Local Authority permitting, planning consultations, and in private sector housing enforcement, caravan site licensing etc.
It is a mix of Technical Officers, Environmental Health Officers and a Senior EHO who are involved with such matters and their individual involvement will depend on the circumstances and progress of individual cases. There is a requirement for checks and balances of enforcement cases by a senior officer if notices are being served and so an element of the senior role is required to deal with Environmental Crime, nuisances etc at various stages.
E. Most officers performing roles around environmental crime, nuisance and ASB enforcement sit within Band 3. However, there is a supporting role provided by officers in Band 2. Officers within Band 4 also undertake a role, for example to complete reviews of enforcement decisions etc.
F. No
